Chef's Specials for Week Ending Sunday 5th April 09

If you're out and about in Edinburgh this weekend there are quite a few good nights worth checking out.

Friday 3rd April

Off:beat launches at The Caves on South Niddry Street on Friday with residents Jamie Mckenzie, Chris Graham and Ewan Smith joined by special guest Jamie Jones (Crosstown Rebels, Circo Loco, DC10). This looks set to be a rather raucous tech-house and minimal affair with Jones's brand of deep thought provoking minimalism proving to be very popular around the globe right now. Doors open at 10.30 and they will be giving away free Mix cds to the first 100 in.

Tax £10 before midnight, £12 after. £9 NUS all night.

Saturday 4th Aril

Jam The Box returns to The GRV this Saturday with the first of their Bi-monthly Live Jams.
This is an all new take on their regular clubnight which will kick off a bit earlier than usual to allow the club to showcase 3 live sets from local bands before the DJs take control at around midnight. This month's live bands will be The 10:04s, The High Lines and Lewis Gibson and The Midas Touch.

Jam The Box has been creating quite a stir since its launch party only a few months ago and is quickly becoming one of the most forward thinking and musically diverse clubnights on the city's calendar. Its highly talented dj team of Jimmy "Jammin" Thomas, Jammiwam and Marmalade Maslin create a mesmerising mix of house, funk, techno, soul, beatdown, hiphop and anything else that takes their fancy. A firm favourite amongst Edinburgh's true music fans and gaining respect from the likes of the Firecracker Records crew amongst others.

Doors open from 7pm with bands on till around midnight and Djs after

Tax £4 all night.

Facebook Event

Aztech, Edinburgh's premier breaks night host their spring break mini club session at Sneaky Pete's on the Cowgate on Saturday too. Siren, Re:Tox and Al Majik will be joined by Wickerman's dance arena organiser Simon Jackson for what promises to be another belter of a party. The last Sneaky-Az was held last August and was by all accounts a seriously bonkers affair. Sneaky Pete's is one of the city's smaller venues at only about 100 capacity and with completely free entry all night, early arrival is highly recommended as this will no doubt be packed out by midnight again.

Doors 10.30- 3am

Tax Free!
